Restringing & Stringing FAQs
Racquets are strung 16-24 hours before your game or intended use so that you can get the maximum benefits from your strings and tension that was requested.
At Origin Badminton & Tennis, we practice and recommends Optimal Stringing Time™ for all our customers/players, a practice 80% of competitive players uses.
Yes. Customers/Players can choose not to adopt Optimal Stringing Time™ but might not get the maximum benefits from the strings and tension requested. Futhermore customers/players should expect more string movement due to the natural setting in of the stringbed.
Nevertheless racquets are still strung to specs requested.
A racquet usually takes about 25-35 mins to string and can vary depending on the type of racquet and string.
Do take note that it is not how fast you can have your racquet back as would be subjected to queues or slots availability.
Lead time would be based on your required/intended usage date subjected to slots availability.
If you require your racquet to be strung or you might be only available on a certain day due to a busy schedule, do consider to make an appointment so that you can receive your racquet(s) within the time and date that you had booked.
You should ideally restring every 1-3 months to get the maximum benefits from your strings. Strings lose most of their playing characteristics after around 20-25 hours of usage.
If you are more of a social player then replace your strings as many times per year as you play per week. For eg. If you play twice a week, we would recommend to restring your racquet at least twice a year.
Always remember that even when you aren’t playing, strings are losing tension constantly. The loss of tension/stringbed stiffness can impact your game and cause additional vibrations in your arm which may result to upper limb(arm) injuries.
Yes, you can bring/provide your own string for restringing. Do take note that there would be a labour cost involved. Please check in-store for more information.
The frame integrity and grommets will be checked by us before stringing, worn out/damaged grommets are replaced free of charge if necessary, as long as the number of worn grommets is within reason.
No, you do not need to cut/remove the strings before sending in your racquet. You would only need to cut/remove the strings if you had snapped it. Click here for more information on racquet care and string removal.
